Definitely Origins Easter Egg
Full quest walkthrough for the April Fool's map — puzzle PaP to viable ending.
Definitely Origins is Michael’s Zombies’ April Fool’s map — a tongue-in-cheek Origins homage with oversized robots, elemental puzzles, and a viable ending separate from endless survival. The Easter egg chains Pack-a-Punch unlock, a robot escort, staff analogs, and a final boss gate. Budget 60–90 minutes for a first co-op clear.
Setup and early rounds
Spawn in the trenches. Open doors toward the generator plaza and buy Juggernog by round 5. PHD Crashout is strongly recommended — explosive puzzle steps and panzer-style elites appear mid-quest.
Power all three generators marked on the skybox compass. Each generator requires a short defend event; only one player needs to interact while others train zombies at the trench loop described in training zombies.
Pack-a-Punch puzzle phase
Definitely Origins does not use teleporters. Instead, arrange element stones around the central monument in the order indicated by:
- Audio tones when standing on trench pressure plates
- Skybox color shifts at rounds 5, 8, and 11
Correct order raises the miniature robot. Incorrect order resets stones — note the sequence in chat or voice call.
Once PaP rises, upgrade your primary (Saiga-12 or Raygun per the weapons tier list).
Robot escort holdout
Activate the robot by interacting with its chest panel. It pathfinds toward the church annex. Defend it for two minutes — zombies prioritize the robot. If its health bar empties, restart from the stone puzzle.
Co-op roles:
- Trainer — keeps horde away from robot path
- Escort — clears sniper zombies from upper balconies
- Support — buys door shortcuts and revives
Staff analog collection
After the escort, four elemental fists spawn in marked trenches:
- Fire — south crater
- Ice — frozen bunker
- Wind — windmill blade platform
- Lightning — generator roof
Interact with each fist, then deposit them at the giant robot’s hands in the plaza. Depositing all four opens the boss arena hatch.
Boss phase and ending
Drop into the arena beneath the plaza. The boss uses three phases: melee rush, explosive barrage, and add spawn. Use PaP automatics and save wonder weapons for phase three.
When the boss falls, interact with the escape portal behind the robot. All players must stand in the beam for synchronization. The ending awards lobby credit and toggles cosmetic flair on repeat completions.
Solo players can finish with Quick Revive, PaP Raygun, and patience — expect longer holdouts.
Repeat completions and lore
Repeat clears still award Emeralds toward the events hub during seasonal windows. Listen to robot dialogue after the ending — it hints at future MZ Community maps and cross-links to Undead Nocturn environmental storytelling.
For practice, break the egg into isolated drills: stone order only, escort only, boss only. Private servers with admin commands remove the need to replay rounds 1–10 between each drill. Document your squad’s stone sequence in chat — Definitely Origins punishes guessing on higher starting rounds.
Loadout mistakes to avoid
Do not enter the boss arena without PaP ammo reserves on both primary and wonder weapon. Do not skip PHD on explosive phases — self-damage downs wipe solo runs instantly. Read Crash and Burn if staff analog positions shift after balance patches. When stuck, revisit How to play perk timing before attempting the full chain.
VIP testing tips
Use admin commands to set_map DefinitelyOrigins and give_perk me PHD on private servers. Practice stone order without farming early rounds. Reset with set_round 1 if add spawns interfere with escort AI.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is Definitely Origins a joke map?
It started as an April Fool's release but includes a full Easter egg with a real ending — not just a meme layout.
Which perks are mandatory?
PHD Crashout and Juggernog are the highest value. PHD negates self-damage during explosive puzzle steps.
Can the robot escort fail?
Yes. If the robot dies, restart from the elemental stone puzzle phase.
Does the ending end the game?
Yes. Standing in the escape portal completes the Easter egg and finishes the match.
