Ammo Attachments
v2.1.0 Crash and Burn — fire, explosive, and specialty ammo mods.
Ammo attachments arrived in Michaels Zombies v2.1.0 Crash and Burn — the biggest equipment change since Mule Kick Easter eggs. Instead of only buying raw weapons from wall buys and the Mystery Box, players now craft ammo-type mods at map stashes to add fire, explosive, and specialty rounds to compatible guns. This page catalogs attachment types, crafting flow, and synergy with PHD Crashout and S-tier weapons from the weapons tier list. Return to the items hub for the full catalog.
What changed in v2.1.0
Before Crash and Burn, weapon identity was fixed at purchase and Pack-a-Punch. v2.1.0 adds:
- Stash benches on playable maps including The Giant, Lighthouse, and Hallows Eve
- Attachment slots on eligible primaries and shotguns
- Elemental ammo — fire DoT, explosive splash, and utility variants
- PHD Crashout perk — reduces self-damage from explosive attachments

How to craft attachments
- Unlock map stash — usually requires power activation and a door purchase chain similar to perk routing. Press F (PC controls) at stash terminals.
- Spend points — crafting costs vary by attachment tier; budget 2,000–4,000 after core perks.
- Select compatible weapon — equip the gun you want to mod before opening the stash UI.
- Choose ammo type — fire for DoT horde clear, explosive for splash grouped zombies, specialty for map-specific bonuses.
- Confirm craft — attachment persists on that weapon until downed swap or new craft.
Stash locations differ per map — explore after unlocking Pack-a-Punch when points stabilize post-round 15.
Attachment types
Fire rounds
Apply burn damage over time after hit. Best on high-rate shotguns — Saiga-12 with fire mod clears training horde on One Window faster. Synergizes with Double Tap for proc rate.
Explosive rounds
Add splash damage per shot. Trench Shotgun explosive mod jumps from A-tier to S+ with tight grouping + G grenade setup. Self-damage possible without PHD Crashout — buy PHD before spamming explosive mods indoors.
Armor-piercing / specialty
Increased damage to armored or special zombie variants appearing past round 25 on Undead Nocturn. PTRS-41 and Kar98k benefit for sniper routes.
Extended mag attachments
Some stashes offer magazine capacity boosts separate from elemental types — lower priority than fire/explosive for horde modes but useful for box LMGs.
Best weapon + attachment pairings

| Saiga-12 | Fire | S tier maintained |
| Trench Shotgun | Explosive | A → S+ with PHD |
| Model 680 | Fire | B → A tier |
| PTRS-41 | AP specialty | S tier sniper |
| Kar98k | AP specialty | A tier budget sniper |

PHD Crashout synergy
PHD Crashout (v2.1.0) reduces explosive self-damage and buffs grenade/attachment explosions. Recommended purchase order for explosive builds:
Juggernog → Speed Cola → PHD Crashout → Double Tap
Without PHD, explosive Saiga-12 indoors on Definitely Origins downs careless players. PHD moves from B-tier to A-tier on the perks tier list when running attachment-heavy builds.
Attachments vs Pack-a-Punch order
Craft attachments after PaP’ing your primary for 4,500 points — base gun stats scale first, then elemental mods multiply effectiveness. Exception: budget wall guns you plan to replace before round 20 skip attachment investment entirely.
Map stash notes
- The Giant: Stash near mid-map power route — craft after Juggernog online
- Lighthouse: Stash unlock tied to power restoration — plan before sonar escape prep
- Hallows Eve: Event map stash with trick-or-treat point bonuses — craft during pumpkin PaP quest downtime
Admin testing
VIP servers: spawn weapons and perks with admin commands, jump to round 20 with set_round 20, then test stash crafting without public ban risk. Attachment names may appear in future console IDs updates.
